Woodford County Agency for Substance Abuse is offering two $1,000 scholarships to qualified candidates.  This scholarship will be awarded to students who have faced and have overcome obstacles related to drug abuse and addiction in his/her family or personal life.

Leadership scholarships will be based on a combination of factors including: academic achievement, potential for success in higher education, extracurricular activities, volunteerism and leadership strengths.

February 28, 2018 Whitaker Bank / KHSAA Sweet 16 Scholarship

Four grants, each in the amount of a one-time scholarship of $1,500 payable to an institution of higher learning. 

The scholarship is not renewalbe and is not endowed for expansion.  

Applicants shall be seniors who participate in any KHSAA sanctioned  sport/sport activity.  Scholarships will be based on excellence in three areas -  Academic Achievement, Leadership, and Community Service. Winners will be notified in early March and recognized during the Whitaker Bank / KHSAA Boys' State Basketball Tournament.

March 15, 2018 Woodford County Conservation District Agricultural / Natural Resources Scholarship Applicants must be a resident of Woodford County who plans to study agriculture or related science in a KY college, university, or technical college. March 15, 2018 Woodford County Conservation District Community / Technical / Trade Schools Scholarship $500 per semester will be awarded to a graduating senior who is a resident of Woodford County planning to enroll in a KY community/technical /trade school, majoring in agriculture related field, and demonstrating financial need.  Click here for application. 
March 15, 2018 Junior Duck Stamp Contest

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Junior Duck Stamp contest is now open to students in grades K-12.  The contest teaches students about wetlands, waterfowl land stewardship, migratory birds, conservation and appreciation of art and writing.  Students may express their knowledge by drawing, painting or sketching a picture of an eligible North American waterfowl species.

This is a memorial Scholarship in the name of a beloved mother, grandmother, wife and friend, a devout Christian, and a life-long lover of literature. 

Scholarship is open to Seniors of Woodford County where Mrs. Burns' legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren.

Commonwealth Credit Union will be offering four $1,000 scholarships this spring.

Students must have a GPA of 2.8 or higher to apply and have an active savings account.  Students will be selected based on scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and community involvment.

Northside elementary school will present to a former Northside student a one-time grant of $1,000 for post-secondary education.  To be eligible, a student must: Be a graduating senior at Woodford County High School; Have attended Northside Elementary for at least two years; Demonstrate characteristics of a well-rounded person.

KMHI awards seven $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are living in modular, manufactured, or mobile homes.

The Kentucky Federation of Republican Women grants a $1.500.00 scholarship to a college-bound  high school senior girl who has been politically active within the Republican Party.  The qualified applicant will graduate from a Kentucky high school in 2018, is or will be a registered Republican and plans to enroll at an accredited college or university in Kentucky.

April 16, 2018 Blue Grass Community Action Partnership Community Services Scholarship

Recipients will be selected on the basis of need, academic record, and the merits of their applications.  The recipients will be selected by a panel of Blue Grass Community Action Partnership Staff, Board Members and the Executive Director.

Preference will be given to applicants that meet the income guidelines for the Community Service Block Grant Program.

Kentucky Chi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa would like to honor a high school senior who is planning to major in education with a $300.00 scholarship.

  The Shelter Insurance Foundation

The Shelter Foundation annually awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in communitites where there is a Shelter Mutual Insurance Company agent who participates in the program.  

The scholarships will be in the amount of $2,000.

The scholarships will be paid directly to the college to apply to the tuition, fees, room and board of the student

A local selection committee of three to five persons consisting of high school officials and community business and professional leaders will consider applicants' scholastic achievement, participation and leadership in school and community activities, citizenship and moral character, and educational goals.

THe Balanced Man Scholarship for the Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter of the University of Louisville. Each year, Sigma Phi Epsilon is happy to annually present over $3,000 of scholarship to incoming freshman. In the year 2017, the average grade-point-average of the scholarship winners was a 3.85, and these students have gone on to continue their academics very successfully and to positively influence countless individuals. EEOICPA Scholarship

  • UEW Healthcare is pleased to offer the UEW Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship. The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college fall semester of 2018. Special consideration will be give to an undergraduate who is interested in pursuing a career in Home Healthcare and knows someone that worked in the nuclear industry and was subsequently approved for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA), but anyone meeting the requirements & can demonstrate an interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare will be considered. This Award will be presented to current college students, but high school seniors who will be attending school in the fall semester of 2018 are also welcome to apply.

The award will be presented to a college student who is enrolled by the fall semester of 2018, but will not have graduated by fall semester of 2018 & is still attending courses at this time. This will be a one-time award.

The Scholarship will be judged on merit and need. Academic achievements as well as any leadership experiences will be taken in to account.

  • Requirements
    • This scholarship is judged & awarded primarily on merit & need.
    • Completed application must be submitted online by July 31, 2018. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
    • Applicant must plan to attend college by fall semester 2018.
    • Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.
    • A transcript must be attached to application for consideration.
    • Applicant must submit an un-opened copy of official transcripts if selected as a finalist.
    • This scholarship is a one-time award worth $1000 to be awarded the fall semester of 2018.
    • Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application.
    • Applicant will be required to demonstrate both their merit and their need for this scholarship
