November 15 KSBA First Degree College Scholarship Program

The Kentucky School Boards Association will fund (2) two $2,500 scholarships for eligible Kentucky high school seniors to attend any two - or four year accredited college or university, in state or out.  One scholarship each will be awarded to a male and a female student.  These nonrenewable scholarships will be paid directly to the institution of higher education.  

Eligibility:

Nominees must be:

* a high school senior intending to go to collegef

* from an immediate family (parents, guardians, siblings) who has not earned a college degree

* have obtained an ACT reading score of at least 20 as a junior or senior

November 30 KCA - Kentucky Concrete Association Scholarship

The KCA High School Essay Contest was created to support high school seniors in their academic future, as well as to increase their knowledge and understanding of the concrete industry within our state. 

The winner of the 17-18 KCA Wm. T. Robertson High School Essay Contest will receive a one time $2,000 scholarship to their school of choice.

*Open to all high school seniors graduating 2017-2018

*An entry form must be included with all essays returned

*Entries should be typed, double-spaced and not exceed 600 words

The Kentucky Association of School Business Officials will be awarding three $2,500 scholarships to seniors who will major in business or education

KASBO will award $2,500 scholarships to (3) Kentucky high school graduating seniors who will major in business or education.

  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet

Are you interested in engineering, math or CAD?  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet offers two scholarship programs to students interested in majoring in civil engineering or civil engineering technology.   More information about the scholarships can be found at http://transportation.ky.gov/Education/Pages/Scholarships.  

 

 

 

January 20, 2018 Horse Farm Workers' Educational Assistance Fund

Any Senior, who is a child of a full-time thoroughbred horse farm employee in Central Kentucky and is applying to the University of Kentucky as a first generation college attendee from their family, may be eligible for one of several special scholarships.  

Up to seven $15,000 renewable scholarships are available, but applicants must contact mstuart727@msn.com or at 859-269-1719 - no later than January 20th, 2018.

The Kentucky Federation of Republican Women grants a $1.500.00 scholarship to a college-bound  high school senior girl who has been politically active within the Republican Party.  The qualified applicant will graduate from a Kentucky high school in 2018, is or will be a registered Republican and plans to enroll at an accredited college or university in Kentucky.

*A one-page typed essay about a Republican woman you admire or who       has influenced your life and why

*An official copy of your high school transcript

United Energy Workers Healthcare

EEOICPA Scholarship

  • UEW Healthcare is pleased to offer the UEW Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship. The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college fall semester of 2018. Special consideration will be give to an undergraduate who is interested in pursuing a career in Home Healthcare and knows someone that worked in the nuclear industry and was subsequently approved for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA), but anyone meeting the requirements & can demonstrate an interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare will be considered. This Award will be presented to current college students, but high school seniors who will be attending school in the fall semester of 2018 are also welcome to apply.

The award will be presented to a college student who is enrolled by the fall semester of 2018, but will not have graduated by fall semester of 2018 & is still attending courses at this time. This will be a one-time award.

The Scholarship will be judged on merit and need. Academic achievements as well as any leadership experiences will be taken in to account.

  • Requirements
    • This scholarship is judged & awarded primarily on merit & need.
    • Completed application must be submitted online by July 31, 2018. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
    • INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
    • Applicant must plan to attend college by fall semester 2018.
    • Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.
    • A transcript must be attached to application for consideration.
    • Applicant must submit an un-opened copy of official transcripts if selected as a finalist.
    • This scholarship is a one-time award worth $1000 to be awarded the fall semester of 2018.
    • Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application.
    • Applicant will be required to demonstrate both their merit and their need for this scholarship
