Walk to School Day

Walk to School Day is Wednesday, April 24!  Permission forms must be turned in by Friday, April 19.  Students will walk to school in groups, with an adult, starting from the Woodford County Park t-ball fields.  Parents, please follow the attached route if you are going to drop off your child at the Woodford County Park Wednesday morning. Happy trails!


Dog Man

Join us for a Family Fun Night on Tuesday April 23, from 5-7pm - dinner will be served!! There will be games, dancing, Book Fair shopping and more!  The dogs from Love on a Leash will be there ready for a story and there will be a special appearance from Dog Man himself during the Family Dance Party - come "Dab with Dog Man!"

YAY!!! Simmons 5th grade won the 2019 WCPS March Attendance Madness!  As a result, every Simmons 5th grader will receive a complimentary meal voucher for Bojangles!  In addition, any student with perfect attendance during the friendly competition will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes to be drawn and delivered later this week!


Art to Remember Orders due Soon

Art to Remember orders are due April 16.  These items made from YOUR child's artwork make fantastic gifts and keepsakes.  And each purchase benefits Simmons!


The thing about leftovers book cover

3rd-5th Grade families - please join us for our first Family Book Club!  We will be reading The Thing About Leftovers by local author C.C. Payne.  Then we will have the opportunity to meet with the author and discuss the book at our book club meeting on Monday April, 20, at 5:00pm.  Please contact Simmons librarian Mindy Logan to sign up or if you have any questions.  You can also view or print the flyer HERE.

Are you raising the child of a relative? You are invited to join us each month to learn about resources and ideas in your role as acting parent/guardian. Dinner is provided, and children are welcome to attend, as there will be activities for them too! All meetings will be held at the Woodford County Extension Service, 184 Beasley Rd. Please see the attached flyer more details. Meetings will be held on the 2nd Monday of each month.
