The Woodford County Preschool provides half-day (3 hour) preschool classes four days a week with classrooms in all 4 of the Woodford County elementary schools. Preschool classes are held Monday-Thursday. Friday is utilized for teacher planning, home visits, parent teacher conferences, and staff training.

The preschool program is provided free to 3 and 4 year old children who live in Woodford County and have been identified as having a developmental delay. The program is also provided free for children who will turn 4 years old by August 1 of the current school year and meet income guidelines. Transportation will be provided free to children who have delays or meet income guidelines.

Woodford County also offers a high-quality and well-rounded preschool experience fee-paying option for 4-year-olds who turn 4 before August 1 and do not meet eligibility for free preschool services. Fee-paying slots are limited in number and assigned on a first-come first-served basis after eligible children have been placed.

Preschool Screenings will be held at Simmons Elementary on the following days:

• Wednesday, April 12, 2023 (morning only): CANCELED

• Friday, May 12, 2023

• Pop-up Screening (Location TBD): Wednesday May 24, 2023 from 10:00-12:00. (No Appointment necessary)

• August 11, 2023

• September 29, 2023

• January 4, 2024

• March 29, 2024

• May 17, 2024

* Our staff will work with your schedule if you cannot attend regularly scheduled screening events.
