Welcome to Woodford County Public Schools!

  • BLOOD DRIVE: Thursday, September 26th is the date of our first blood drive of the year!!  Students who are 17 years or older, can sign up on their own signature and give the gift of life.  Students who are Sixteen years old can donate with a parent's signature. PARENTS/GUARDIANS we need you too! Just email Mrs. Fitzpatrick that you want to donate  Please CLICK HERE for information/16 year olds approval form.  All donors will receive a donor T-shirt just for participating.  As an added bonus, the Kentucky Blood Center will give a scholarship to one or more of our seniors based on the number of pints we collect.  While all of these are very good reasons to consider donating, the biggest reason is that your donation has the power to save and change lives.  Your blood could stabilize an accident victim while life saving surgery is performed.Your blood could provide clotting factors for a hemophiliac who is bleeding to death.  Your blood could boost the immune system and provide energy for a child battling cancer. The value of your blood is limitless.  Please consider being a blood donor this month and be a hero to someone who desperately needs it.  Sign ups will begin Monday in the cafeteria.  Parents/guardians: With the new pre-registration system, I can get you in and out quicker than ever before. Any adult who wants to donate can go to the head of the line so that we can get you back to work more quickly.

  • KNITTING HIVE: Mrs. Greene is forming a Hive to teach kids to knit and we will probably need some donations if people will chip in. She needs: pairs of size 8 straight, single-pointed knitting needles and worsted weight acrylic yarn. It doesn’t matter what color it is (the first thing they are going to make is a patchwork afghan to be donated to the Woodford Humane Society). After that, students can make whatever they want with Mrs. Greene’s help. Knit items can drop items off at the high school. If needed, she can be contacted by email:   susan.greene@woodford.kyschools.us
  • ALIVE at 25 is a driver’s awareness course.  This FREE course will be offered at WCHS on September 17th from 4:30-8:30p.m. in room 109.   If you're a teenager, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet requires that you complete Driver's Ed, or a Graduated Licensing Program (GLP) course, before obtaining your unrestricted KY driver's license.  To register, visit www.aliveat25.us.

  • University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics Pathway Preview Day --September 28, 2019 This event takes place at UK in the Gatton College of Business and Economics. This is an opportunity for interested students to meet current students, participate in a faculty mini lesson, and learn more about the Pathways. The biggest change is that these have a hard deadline of Dec 1. Students can register for the event here:    http://gatton.uky.edu/about-us/stay-connected/events/2019-09-28/pathway-preview-day

  • SENIOR PARENTS! Project Graduation 2020!!  If you are a parent of a senior, we need your help!   Believe it or not, it is actually time to start planning for Project Graduation 2020.  Project Graduation is an alcohol-free and drug-free "lock-in" celebration at Falling Springs Recreation Center for the senior class.  Project Graduation is NOT organized or funded by Woodford County Public Schools. Project Graduation is made possible only through the efforts of parent volunteers.  Therefore, the Project Graduation Committee is asking for your help in several areas. If you would be willing to help, please contact Melissa Miracle at melissa.miracle@ky.gov.  A meeting is scheduled for September 17th at 6:30 PM in the WCHS library for those interested in helping.

  • The Gatton Academy and the Craft Academy are hosting an event on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Franklin County Board of Education.  All interested students and their families are invited to attend to learn more about the opportunities both academies offer to high school students who are interested in science, technology, engineering, and math.
