Introducing…The Woodford Virtual Learning Academy!
Woodford County Public Schools understands that in our modern world we must adapt accordingly to ensure all students are provided with the learning experience that best meets their individual needs. With great excitement and with full integrity to continue to provide high-quality instruction for all students, we are thrilled to announce the Woodford Virtual Learning Academy as a new school and learning option in our district. Over the course of the last four years, we have gained great insight into how some students excel in a non-traditional learning environment. While we have always had non-traditional or online options for students for periods of necessity, we are now refining these alternative methods for instruction into its own school. The Woodford Virtual Learning Academy (WVLA) will be available to students in 9th through 12th grades. Within this school, students and their parents or caregivers may choose between three options. They are as follows:
- Fully virtual
- Hybrid - Students may take some courses through WVLA and may take some courses in- person at WCHS
- New Horizons - Online homeschool academy
WVLA will have designated teachers and administrators to provide guidance and support to students who decide to apply for the school. While we will not see these students every day in our classrooms and hallways, they are still our students - valued members of our school community!
